Ethacridine lactate solution 0,1% (Rivanol solution)

Water solution of rivanol (0.1%) has an antiseptic and bacteriostatic effect. Rivanol belongs to the group of acridine dyes, which are powerful antiseptics and are particularly effective against bacteria, especially from the groups of streptococcus and staphylococcus. Unlike other antiseptics, its bactericidal effect is not reduced in the presence of serum proteins, but on the contrary, it increases even more.

It is used as a disinfectant for skin, nose mucous membranes and wounds.

It is used:

• For cleaning wounds
• For burns of smaller degree
• For treating wounds after episiotomy: accelerates wound healing, provides pleasant cooling sensation, reduces swelling, prevents infection
• For rinsing the ear canal (in cases of more serious ear secretion)

Rivanol solution is intended for external use for both children and adults.

An undiluted 0.1% solution is used for application to the skin, nose mucous membranes and cleaning wounds.

A diluted solution is used to rinse ear canal (1 spoon per ¼ liter of lukewarm water)
